The inspiration behind 'Growing Pains' emanates from my idea that pain and growth are inextricably intertwined. This is because, just as the ribcage must expand to allow the creepers through, we as individuals must also make room for often painful changes in our lives, that push us out of our comfort zones. Although for a brief moment this change might hurt us, it eventually blossoms forth in flowers of fruitfulness, raising beauty from the suffering. Just as the ribs "grow" to allow this, we too must grow past our limitations in order to see just how rich our lives can be. I hope my design can remind wearers that 'beauty can grow out of the most unexpected places.'
